Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: September 20, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what content, products, services, and activities are and are not permitted on Alike.

This AUP applies to all users of Alike, including creators who create or publish mini-sites, storefronts, portfolios, blogs, link-in-bio pages, digital products, files, links, or other content through Alike.

By using Alike, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.

We want Alike to provide creators with flexible tools to build and monetize their own online presence while keeping the platform safe, lawful, and compatible with the requirements of our payment and infrastructure providers.

1. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for all content, products, files, links, and other materials that you publish, upload, sell, distribute, or otherwise make available through Alike.

You must ensure that:

  • you have the legal right to publish, distribute, and sell your content and products;

  • your content and products comply with applicable laws and regulations;

  • your content and products comply with this AUP and our Terms of Service;

  • information you provide about yourself, your business, and your products is accurate and not misleading;

  • you comply with the terms and policies of applicable third-party services and payment providers used in connection with Alike.

The fact that content is technically capable of being uploaded, published, age-restricted, or sold through Alike does not mean that Alike has reviewed or approved that content.

2. Illegal Activities

You may not use Alike to create, promote, distribute, facilitate, or sell anything that is illegal in a jurisdiction applicable to you, Alike, your customers, or the relevant transaction.

This includes, without limitation:

  • illegal goods or services;

  • content that facilitates criminal activity;

  • fraudulent schemes;

  • stolen goods or information;

  • unlawful drugs or controlled substances;

  • unlawful weapons, explosives, or dangerous materials;

  • forged documents or identity materials;

  • unlawful financial services;

  • content or services that violate applicable sanctions or trade restrictions.

You may not use Alike to instruct, encourage, or materially facilitate illegal activity.

3. Sexual and Adult Content

Alike may provide tools that allow creators to identify certain lawful content as sensitive or age-restricted and require visitors to confirm that they meet a specified minimum age before accessing that content.

An age restriction does not make otherwise prohibited content permissible on Alike.

You may not use Alike to publish, distribute, promote, or sell:

  • pornography;

  • sexually explicit content designed primarily for sexual gratification;

  • sexually explicit videos, images, illustrations, audio, literature, or other media designed primarily for sexual gratification;

  • AI-generated content that falls within the prohibited categories above;

  • sexual services;

  • escort or prostitution services;

  • sexual massage services;

  • adult live-chat or pay-per-view sexual services;

  • sexual exploitation or non-consensual intimate content;

  • content involving or sexualizing minors;

  • content depicting, promoting, or facilitating sexual abuse or exploitation.

Content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is strictly prohibited and may be reported to relevant authorities where required or appropriate.

Creators must not use Alike's age-restriction features as a means of circumventing this section.

4. Age-Restricted and Sensitive Content

Certain content that is lawful and otherwise permitted under this AUP may nevertheless be unsuitable for younger audiences.

Where Alike provides age-restriction or sensitive-content controls, creators are responsible for using those controls appropriately.

Age-restricted content remains subject to all other provisions of this AUP.

Alike may apply, modify, or require age restrictions to content where we reasonably determine that doing so is appropriate.

Alike may also remove content entirely where an age restriction would not adequately address the relevant legal, safety, payment-provider, or platform-policy concern.

5. Intellectual Property

You may only upload, publish, distribute, or sell content that you own or have the necessary rights, licences, and permissions to use.

You may not use Alike to:

  • sell or distribute pirated software, movies, music, books, games, templates, fonts, photographs, courses, or other copyrighted materials;

  • sell counterfeit products;

  • distribute another person's paid content without authorization;

  • infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other proprietary rights;

  • falsely claim ownership of another person's work;

  • facilitate or encourage intellectual-property infringement.

If you believe content available through Alike infringes your intellectual-property rights, you may submit a report to Alike.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content while investigating a report and may suspend or terminate repeat infringers.

6. Digital Products

Creators may use Alike to sell digital products that comply with this AUP.

Examples may include permitted digital downloads, templates, educational materials, design assets, ebooks, software, digital resources, and other creator-owned digital products.

You may not sell digital products that:

  • contain prohibited content;

  • infringe third-party rights;

  • are fraudulent or materially misleading;

  • contain malware, spyware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious code;

  • are designed to steal credentials, financial information, or personal information;

  • provide unauthorized access to accounts, services, software, or paid content;

  • facilitate illegal activity;

  • violate the rules of an applicable payment provider.

Creators must accurately describe what customers are purchasing.

You must not intentionally misrepresent the nature, quality, functionality, ownership, licensing terms, or availability of a digital product.

7. Fraud, Deception, and Misleading Practices

You may not use Alike for fraudulent, deceptive, manipulative, or misleading activities.

This includes:

  • impersonating another person, creator, business, or organization;

  • phishing;

  • fake giveaways or fraudulent promotions;

  • pyramid or similar prohibited schemes;

  • deceptive investment or financial claims;

  • deliberately misleading product descriptions;

  • selling products you do not have the right or ability to provide;

  • attempting to obtain payments without providing the represented product or service;

  • manipulating payment disputes or refund processes;

  • creating transactions without a genuine commercial purpose.

8. Payments and Financial Activities

Alike is not a peer-to-peer money-transfer service.

You may not use Alike or its payment functionality to:

  • transfer money between individuals without a genuine underlying purchase;

  • process payments on behalf of unrelated third parties without authorization;

  • disguise the true nature of a transaction;

  • conduct unauthorized payment aggregation;

  • process transactions for prohibited businesses, products, or services;

  • circumvent restrictions imposed by Alike, Stripe, card networks, banks, or other payment providers.

Where a creator connects a third-party payment account, including a Stripe Connected Account, the creator is also responsible for complying with that payment provider's applicable terms, policies, prohibited-business requirements, and restricted-business requirements.

The availability of a payment feature does not constitute approval by Alike or any payment provider of the creator's business, content, or products.

9. Gambling and Prize-Based Activities

Unless expressly approved by Alike and permitted by all applicable payment providers and laws, you may not use Alike to operate, promote, facilitate, or accept payments for gambling or similar activities.

This may include:

  • casino games;

  • lotteries;

  • betting;

  • wagering;

  • games of chance involving monetary or material prizes;

  • paid-entry competitions where participants may win something of value;

  • other gambling or prize-based activities restricted by applicable payment providers or law.

10. Harmful or Dangerous Content

You may not use Alike to publish, promote, sell, or distribute content or products that:

  • unlawfully promote or facilitate violence;

  • credibly threaten another person;

  • promote terrorism or violent extremist organizations;

  • facilitate human trafficking or exploitation;

  • provide materials intended to enable serious unlawful harm;

  • promote hatred or unlawful violence against protected groups;

  • maliciously expose another person's highly sensitive personal information.

Alike may take into account context, including whether material is documentary, educational, journalistic, artistic, or intended to facilitate harmful conduct.

11. Malware and Cyber Abuse

You may not use Alike to distribute or facilitate:

  • malware;

  • ransomware;

  • credential-stealing tools;

  • phishing pages;

  • malicious scripts;

  • unauthorized surveillance tools;

  • tools primarily intended to compromise systems or accounts;

  • stolen credentials or authentication tokens;

  • instructions or services intended to enable unauthorized access to systems.

Legitimate cybersecurity education, research, and defensive tools may be permitted where they are lawful and are not intended to facilitate abuse.

12. Privacy and Personal Information

You must respect the privacy and personal information of others.

You may not use Alike to:

  • unlawfully collect personal information;

  • sell or distribute stolen personal information;

  • publish highly sensitive personal information without authorization where doing so violates applicable law or creates a serious safety risk;

  • impersonate another person;

  • facilitate identity theft;

  • obtain passwords, authentication credentials, financial information, or other sensitive information through deception.

Creators who collect information from visitors or customers are responsible for complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws.

13. Spam and Platform Abuse

You may not:

  • use Alike to distribute unlawful or abusive spam;

  • operate phishing pages;

  • use automated systems to abuse or disrupt Alike;

  • attempt to bypass platform limitations or security measures;

  • interfere with Alike's services or infrastructure;

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to Alike or another user's account;

  • use Alike in a manner intended to evade enforcement of this AUP;

  • repeatedly create accounts to circumvent a suspension or termination.

14. Restricted Businesses and Products

Certain otherwise lawful businesses, products, or services may be prohibited or restricted because of requirements imposed by payment providers, financial institutions, card networks, infrastructure providers, or applicable law.

Accordingly, Alike may prohibit, restrict, or require additional review of particular products, services, creators, or business models even where they are not expressly listed in this AUP.

Where payments are processed through a third-party payment provider, creators must also comply with that provider's applicable acceptable-use, prohibited-business, and restricted-business policies.

If a creator's business requires approval from a payment provider, the creator is responsible for obtaining and maintaining that approval.

15. Reporting Content

If you believe that an Alike page, account, or product violates this AUP, you may report it using the reporting tools provided on Alike or by contacting us through our designated support channel.

When submitting a report, please provide enough information for us to identify and evaluate the relevant content, such as:

  • the URL of the page or product;

  • the reason for the report;

  • a description of the suspected violation;

  • supporting information where appropriate.

For intellectual-property complaints, we may request additional information necessary to evaluate ownership, authorization, and the allegedly infringing material.

Submitting intentionally false, fraudulent, or abusive reports is prohibited.

16. How We Enforce This Policy

Alike may use a combination of automated systems, manual review, user reports, payment-provider notifications, and other signals to identify potential violations.

Where we identify or reasonably suspect a violation, we may take action including:

  • applying a warning or age restriction;

  • requesting additional information from a creator;

  • restricting access to content;

  • removing or unpublishing content;

  • disabling the sale of a product;

  • disabling payment functionality;

  • suspending a mini-site;

  • suspending or terminating an account;

  • restricting future use of Alike;

  • preserving relevant records;

  • reporting activity to a payment provider or relevant authority where required or appropriate.

The action taken may depend on the nature, severity, frequency, and context of the violation.

In cases involving serious safety, legal, fraud, payment, or compliance risks, we may take action without prior notice.

17. Payment Provider Requirements

Creators using payment functionality through Alike remain responsible for complying with the rules of the payment provider associated with their account.

For creators using Stripe, this includes compliance with the Stripe Services Agreement and Stripe's current Prohibited and Restricted Businesses requirements.

Alike may restrict or disable payment functionality if we reasonably believe that a creator, product, transaction, or activity may violate payment-provider requirements.

A creator must not attempt to circumvent such a restriction by changing descriptions, URLs, accounts, payment methods, or other information while continuing substantially the same prohibited activity.

18. Investigations

Alike may investigate suspected violations of this AUP.

You agree to reasonably cooperate with investigations relating to your use of Alike, including by providing information necessary to verify:

  • your identity;

  • ownership or authorization of content;

  • the nature of a product or service;

  • fulfilment of customer purchases;

  • the legitimacy of transactions;

  • compliance with this AUP.

Failure to reasonably cooperate may result in restrictions on your account or payment functionality.

19. Repeat and Serious Violations

Repeated violations of this AUP may result in permanent account termination.

Certain serious violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without a prior warning.

We may also prevent users whose accounts have been terminated for serious or repeated violations from creating or operating additional Alike accounts.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes to Alike, applicable laws, safety requirements, payment-provider requirements, or our enforcement practices.

When appropriate, we will provide notice of material changes.

Your continued use of Alike following the effective date of an updated AUP constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.

21. Contact Us
